With expert and keynote speaker Claus Derdak, BMW Group Austria´
During ATTC talkMobility 7, 156 guests came together at ARES TOWER on March 30, 2011, to discuss the topic of “Car2Car Communication – Data Exchange between Motor Vehicles.”
After the keynote speaker for the evening, Claus Derdak, provided an interesting look at development work at BMW, the participants engaged in an animated discussion of the opportunities and risks of car2car communication. One thing that all of the guests at the podium (ATTC president and ASFINAG managing board member AloisSchedl, ÖAMTC general secretary Oliver Schmerold, CIRQUENT managing director Klaus Schmid and leisure time and tourism researcher Professor Peter Zellmann) were able to agree on was the fact that the development of this technology is unstoppable. At the same time, it was noted that it is important that the motor vehicle command center does not become an infotainment center, and that the basic functions of traffic information and traffic safety must be kept at the forefront, regardless of the driver’s individual responsibility.
